Dhangadhi ensured their place in the final of Ruslan DPL2

Rohan Mustafa’s all round performance lead Team Chauraha Dhangadhi to the final of Ruslan Dhangadhi Premier League 2018. Mustafa saw cleaver spell while bowling first with a wicket of Gyanendra Malla and chasing the target, he topped Dhangadhi’s batting card with 20ball- 33 runs.

Dhangadhi’s skipper Sompal Kami’s decision to field first went right as his troops responded it positively with electrifying bowling and fielding. Kathmandu Goldens set the target of 128 which was later chased by Dhangadhi with a wicket and a ball to spare.
Batting first, Golden’s opener couldn’t provide good start as Bhati (00) failed to get going. Bhupendra Thapa (10) was promoted to no.3, who hung their for while but couldn’t make the opportunity count. Then, Amit Shrestha shared inning defining partnership of 52 runs with skipper Malla. Shrestha scored 36 runs in 38 balls before being out on unfortunate manner. Malla topped Golden’s batting chart with quick fire 38 runs from 23 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. No one leaving Puspa Thapa (14)* could contribute from lower-middle order which resulted Golden’s 127 runs in inscribed 20 overs of inning with the lost of 9 wickets. The bowling of Dhangadi was attacking and economical too. Kami and Bhandari was the highest wicket taker with two wickets each. Dhamala, Samsad and Mustafa too chipped in with a wicket each.

Dhangadhi was in need of 128 runs to ensured their spot in the final. Dhamala and Ahmed failed to provide massive start as Ahmed (01) went back in second over of the inning. Dhamala (13) stayed there for while before being caught by Rajbanshi off Rashid Khan’s delivery. Shankhar Rana (28) and Sonu Tamang (14) along with Mustafa batted well to cross the winning line for Dhangadhi.

For Goldens, Rashid Khan, Shahab Alam and Sunny Patel picked up two wickets each to gave a fight till the end.

With this victory, home team, Team Chauraha Dhangadhi became first side to ensured their spot in final. Where, Kathmandu Goldens will meet another chance to keep their title’s hope alive as they will face the winner of eliminator match in Qualifier 2.
