Determinate Malla and Impressive Khan wrote the script of Kathmandu Golden’s victory over CYC Attariya. Golden’s surpassed Attariya by 11 runs to confirmed their place in play-offs.
Golden’s won the toss and opted to bat first. Opening pair couldn’t play any significant role as they only added 14 runs for the first wicket. Bhati was first man to left the crease with 7 runs on his pocket. Bhati’s opening fellow, Amit Shrestha, too couldn’t hung there for long as he returned back in very next over with 6 runs beside his name. Skipper Malla looked good with 43ball- 57 runs. He smashed 4 fours and 3 sixes before being caught by Jhora off Karki’s delivery. Bhupendra Thapa (04) yet again failed to impress with cheap dismissal. In the end, very useful inning from Naresh Budayair and Rashid Khan propelled Golden’s total to 137 runs. Budayair scored 27 runs from 27 balls with four boundaries (2:2 fours and six respectively). Rashid Khan’s a fours and six summed up his 9ball- 16 runs inning. Attariya’s bowling was impressive. Urao was the highest wicket-taker with 3 wickets. Karki and Chandra took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Attariya forced to came down with new opening pair as their skipper and regular opener, Subash Khakurel, injured his finger while keeping the wicket during first inning. They opened with Khusal Bhurtel (08) and Prem Tamang (04). Both of them failed to deliver today which reduced them to (12-2). Chitkara played a vital inning of 36 runs in 26 runs and helped his team to stay in hunt. Chandra’s 26 runs inning and Jhora’s 21 runs were other notable score from Attariya’s batsmen. Goldens kept it tight in bowling and fielding department. Bhati was the highest wicket taker for them with 3 wickets in his 4 overs conceding just 10 runs. Rashid Khan took 2 wickets where Alam managed to hold a wicket. Poor batting display from Attariya and some excellent bowling from Goldens summed of Attariya’s 126 runs with the lost of 8 wickets in inscribed 20 overs.
Unbeaten Goldens put their one feet on Play-off where another victory might ensure their qualifier-01’s spot. Where Attariya find themselves on must-win condition.
