Nicholas Pooran splendid batting helped CWI B to surpass Montreal Tigers by 2 wickets with 5 balls to spare.
Winning the toss, Tigers elected to bat first. Sunil Narine and Dwayne Smith gave them a flying start and shared 51 runs stand, taking just 22 balls. Narine smashed 3 sixes and 2 fours in his 15ball- 28 runs inning. His deputy, Smith scored 16 runs off 12 deliveries. Then, Moises Henriques (26) and Sikandar Raza (47) took Tigers to a good total of 183 runs losing 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. For CWI B, Jeremiah Louis and Obed McCoy picked up maximum 3 wickets each. Louis sent back Ashley Nurse (10), Rayyan Pathan (11) and Sunil Narine in his bowling quota of 4 overs, expensing 42 runs. McCoy sent back Australian all rounder Peter Siddle (01), Sikandar Raza and Dwayne Smith in his fruitful bowling spell of 4 overs, expensing 31 runs. Khary Pierre also produced a economical figure with 2 wickets besides his name. He expensed 20 runs in his full bowling quota of 4 overs.
Chasing the target of 184 runs, CWI B lost their first wicket in the very first ball as Siddle trapped Bramble (00) infront of wickets. Brandon King (56) and Nicholas Pooran (58) put CWI B back on the track. Shamar Springer 18 ball- 27 runs cameo helped CWI B to seal the victory. Springer slammed 2 fours and sixes respectively. Lasith Malinga and Peter Siddle managed to pick 2 wickets each for Tigers. Narine was more than exceptional with outstanding spell which produced the magnificent figure of (4-0-15-1). Where, it wasn’t good day at office for Nepal’s 17-year-old leggie who were very expensive with economy rate of around 14. He sent back Louis but gave away 57 runs in bowling spell of 4 overs.
