Amit Shrestha’s Iconic inning blemished Team Chauraha Dhangadhi’s chances. Shrestha carried his bat through the inning with master-class 81 runs off 65 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes.
Winning the toss, Kathmandhu Goldens opted to field first. Despite of poor show from Mishra, who consumed 15 balls for 9 runs, Team Chauraha Dhangadhi started it well with Sunil Dhamala brilliance who scored 68 runs from 57 balls with the help of 8 fours and two hits over the rope. After departure of Mishra, who shared 55 runs partnership for the first wicket with Dhamala, Rana joined the crease and played his vital role. Rana shared 71 runs stand with Dhamala with consuming 66 balls. Rana (36) got stumped off Sunny Patel delivery and left the crease after taking his side in command able position, 126/2 in 17th over. Shahab Alam magical over, which produced first hat-trick of this edition of DPL, spoiled out the platform set by Dhangadhi’s top order. Alam victimised Sonu Tamang, Sompal Kami and Sunil Dhamala to procured brilliant figure of (4-0-23-3). Dhangadhi’s middle lower order couldn’t left any notable contribution, hence, Dhangadhi ended up with the score of 145 runs with the lost of 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Kishore Mahato, Sunny Patel and Rashid Khan too gave their best effort with a wicket each.
Chasing a decent target of 146 runs, Goldens started it brilliantly with 59 runs stand for the first wicket. Kolsawala (16) departed off in 8th over, where his opening deputy Amit Shrestha kept on building partnership with different available partners. Shrestha shared 14 runs with his skipper Malla (10). Then Sunny Patel (07) who batted at no.4 departed quickly before Naresh Budayair finished off the match with a maximum hit. Budayair scored 24 runs off 18 balls with a four and two sixes. Amit Shrestha’s sensible inning and Naresh Budayair’s blistering cameo resulted Goldens chased it down with 8 balls to spare and registered 7 wicket victory to open up the tournament on winning note. For Dhangadhi, Samsad Sheikh and Sunil Dhamala gave them a chance with two and one wicket respectiely.
Team Chauraha Dhangadhi will face CYC Attariya where Kathmandhu Goldens will lock horn against Rupendehi Challengers on April 2nd in their next fixture.
