Splendid batting from skipper Musaka and exceptional bowling from Irfan handed huge victory for Uganda as they thrashed Bermuda by 189 runs.
Bermuda won the toss and asked Uganda to bat first. Stovell sent back Sesazi (03) too early but 137 runs stand between Mukasa and Kayondo took things away from Bermuda. Skipper Mukasa played captain’s knock and smashed 97 runs off 135 balls with 6 shots which kissed the boundary’s rope. His fellow, Kayondo scored 55 runs from 92 balls with 2 fours. In the end, sensible batting from Mohammed Irfan (25) and Riazat Ali Shah (33) propelled Uganda’s total to 249 runs, losing 5 batsmen in inscribed 50 overs. Ali Shah personally slammed 3 fours and a six. Outerbridge picked up 2 wickets, expensing 46 runs in his bowling spell of 10 overs. Stovell and Trott also managed to pick up a wicket each. Trott was bit expensive but Stovell had great day in office with applaudable figure of (10-2-19-1).
After Lunch break, Mohammed Irfan was on different rhythm. He was well supported by Nsubuga. They hunted in pair and reduced Bermuda to 16 runs for the lost of 4 wickets within 7 over, out of which Irfan and Nsubuga shared two wickets each. After then, Bermuda’s middle and lower order batsmen were clueless of Irfan’s bowling as they can’t hung there for long in his marathon spell. Irfan picked up 6 wickets on his magical bowling spell of 10 overs. He bowled 4 maidens over on his way to procured exceptional figure of (10-4-23-6). Masaba and Ssenyondo also managed to pick up a wicket each. Bermuda just managed to score 60 runs, losing all wickets in 22th over.
With this, Uganda climb up to second spot with better net runrate. Uganda have similar 2 points in 2 matches. Uganda will face Vanuatu whereas Bermuda will lock horn against Jersey on May 2.
