Apsari Begam went all-round to help Jhapa Womens Cricket Team to kick off Provincial Womens Team’s Selection Tournament with comprehensive win. They beat Morang Women’s Team by 97-run.
Batting first, Jhapa posted 143 for seven in stimulated 20 overs. Roma Thapa and Apsari scored 26 runs each. Roma took 27 balls with three fours while Apsari did it in 25 balls that included four boundaries. Likewise, skipper Rubina Chhetry hammered four boundaries for her 19-ball 23.
Tika Shah (2-12) and Radhika Kumal (2-13) picked up two wickets each for the losing side.
Morang only managed to score 46 runs, losing all the wickets in 15.5 over. Bhima Kunwar top scored for them with 24-ball 13.
Morang will meet Ilam on Saturday.
