Aashirbad picks four but Patriotic fall 39-run short

Aashirbad Upreti’s excellent bowling was not enough for Patriotic Cricket Training Centre as they handed 39-run victory to Milan Cricket Club in the second Twenty20 of three-match twenty20 series at Turkeni Khel Maidan on Monday.

Milan added 70 allout in 19.2 after they elected to bat first. In reply, Patriotic were bundled-out for 31 runs in 19.3 overs.

Milan now lead the series with 2-0 scoreline with third match to be play on Thursday.

Aashirbad Upreti bowled exceptionally well and reduced Milan to 23/5 in seven over. He picked four wickets, giving away 11 runs in his four over. Similarly, Divyam Adhikari also returned the figures of 2-13 in his four overs.

Arjoti Malik single handedly recovered the Milan’s innings with 35-ball 25 laced with four boundaries. Anish Paudel gave him perfect company with 12 runs off 26 balls.

There was nothing on display from Patriotic with the bat. Skipper Aadarsh Raj Khatiwada top scored for them with unbeaten 17-ball 10. Dipen Gurung also scored 8 runs off 20 balls.

Player of the match Abishek Shrestha picked three wickets, giving away just three runs in his four overs. Bikash Dangi also had a good day in office with the figures of 2-4 in his four overs.
