Umesh Patwal has been appointed as Nepal Cricket Team batting coach for ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018.

After a completion of Kulkarni’s tenure, Nepal was seeking for another batting coach to work on their batting’s weakness. Nepal is qualified for ICC World Cup Qualifier after claiming the second position in recently concluded ICC World Cricket League Division II. He severed Afghanistan cricket team as a batting coach during  Twenty20 world cup 2014 and Asia Cup 2014. His tenure with Afghanistan was admirable as Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) termed him as one of the most skillful coaches. He has very innovation coaching style, as per the source, he preferred body balance and training more than working on technique. Besides this, Afghanistan star like Mohammad Shahzad and Mohammad Nabi credited him several times and often they traveled to Mumbai to train with him.

He was academy coach Vidarbha Cricket Association, Director of Cricket at Global Cricket School and Head Coach of Payyade Cricket Club.

He will join Nepal cricket team in few days and will travel to Zimbabwe with Team. Nepal can expect a lot from him and need to take most of him in his short tenure.
