They made hard work of it, but Nepal escaped through it with four wickets victory in their ICC World Cricket League Division II game against UAE at Trustco United, chasing down a modest total of 115 runs in reduced 34 overs.
With just 94 runs required and 169 balls on a bank, Nepal’s lost their three important warriors cheaply. Then Their skipper Paras Khadka threw the fear and stand-out differently to make opposition fear with counter-attack cricket. He particularly targeted Ahmed Raza and smashed four boundaries off him. He scored 51 runs off 48 balls which includes five sixes and two fours.

For all of Khadka’s heroics, though, it was the bowlers who dominated the day. A crafty spell from Sompal Kami saw Nepal’s pace bowling spearhead take four wickets for 30 runs in his 7 overs of bowling spell.
Their spin bowing teen star, Sandeep Lamichhane also played a vital role to destroy UAE’s batting backbone. He picked up three wickets in the chapter of his 7 overs, expensing just 30 runs with one maiden overs.
