44 Nepali Women cricketer were selected in the primary selection for Asian World T20 Qualifier tournament which is scheduled to be held in Thailand next month. Its quite shameful to mention that no any domestic women cricket tournaments were held in Nepal since last year. Selection of players was based on the performance that were held last year in the likes of 7th National sports tournament, Inter Cup.
Suspension of CAN might be the reason behind Nepal women cricketer lacking domestic tournament. Selected 44 players had further got divided into 4 teams and played some practice matches between October 7 to 10 in TU cricket ground. On the basis of their performance there, 22 players got selected on second round of Nepal Woman cricket team selection for Asian World T20 Qualifier. Nepal Woman Cricket team will fly off to Bangladesh for final preparation of the tournament on November 2 for three practice matches against Bangaldesh local clubs. World T20 Qualifier will kick off from November 18 on Thailand where teams like China, HongKong, UAE and host Thailand will take part along with Nepal. Tournament will played on round robin method and winner will get chance to take part in ICC World T20 Qualifier which will held on Netherland.
