Chennai Super Kings lost three matches in a row for the first time in Indian Premier League’s (IPL) history as Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by seven-run on Friday at Dubai International Cricket Ground.
After opting to bat first, Sunrisers posted 164/5 in 20 overs after two young Indian batsman, Priyam Garg (51* off 26 deliveries) and Abhishek Sharma (31 off 24) stood up in tough condition. Chasing the target, Ravindra Jadeja (50 off 35) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (47 not out off 36) took the match deep but failed to finish it off yet again.
Cricket Concern’s turnaround of the match feature 77 runs stand from 42 balls between Garg and Sharma for the fifth wicket after Sunrisers lost their experience campaigners too early. Skipper David Warner (28), Johny Bairstow (00), Kane Williamson (09) and Manish Pandey (29) were back in the hut with only 69 runs on the board. The two young batsman drove the innings perfectly and helped the team to have winning total on the board. That partnership was formed after Dhoni failed to take review once again in 2020. Here’s our Turnaround board to support it.
Sunrisers will meet Mumbai Indians while Super Kings will see off Kings XI Punjab on Sunday’s double-header.
