Delhi Daredevils retained Nepal’s spin bowling sensational Sandeep Lamichanne for next season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Lamichhane became first Nepalese player to play IPL last season as one of IPL’s franchise team, Dehli Daredevils picked him up in his base price, 20 lakhs Indian Currency. He didn’t get chance to play for first 11 matches, but when he got picked for last 3 encounters, he impressed well enough to catch the world’s attention. He picked up 5 wickets in his last season IPL’s 3 appearance with excellent bowling average of 16.4. With such impressive show on one of the high profile’s franchise T20 league of the world (IPL), he moved on and represented Montreal Tigers in inaugural season of Global T20 Canada. He was also drafted by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for Caribbean Premier League 2018. He also took part in Afghanistan Premier League.
In October 2018, he was signed by the Melbourne Stars for the Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), becoming the first cricketer from Nepal to be signed up to the BBL. Lamichhane is placed in today released, Daredevils’ retained squad as 15 players are retained for next season. Daredevils released Glenn Maxwell, Gautam Gambhir etc.
