The youth of India (India U19 A) thrashed (won by 140 runs) Afghanistan’s youth team (Afghanistan U19) badly in their first match of the Quadrangular U19 One Day Series.

The Afghanistan’s skipper won the toss and opted to field first, which later didn’t favour them as India batted beautifully and posted the target of 329 runs. Afghanistan failed to reach that mammoth feat. Almost every Indian batsmen contributed. Prabhsimran Singh made the wonderful century by scoring 104 runs. Indian skipper, Pavan Shah, continued the momentum and scored 67 runs and Ayush Badoni (52) also succed to touch half century’s landmark. Abdul was the highest wicket-taker for Afghanistan .He took 4 wickets whereas Jawad and Kabir took a wicket each.

Chasing the mammoth target, Afghanistan’s opening pair of Atal and Hassan, came to start the chase for Afghanistan. Hassan played the crucial innings of 67 runs. Host’s bowlers were brilliant on the day. Mohit, Tyagi, Badoni and Jaiswal took 2 wickets each and Desai grabed a wicket in his account.
Prabhsimran Singh was awarded as the man of the match for his beautiful century.
