Oman tackled the toughest obstacle, USA, to stay on the top of ICC World Cricket League Division III’s points table. Kenya batted exceptionally well to edge Singapore today.
Oman chased USA’s 213 runs and made it four wins in a row. Ilays led the charge with magnificent century in crunchy run-chase. He smashed 100 runs from 122 deliveries with the help of 10 fours and a six. He was well supported by Jatinder Singh (42), who shared 94 runs with him for second wicket. Skipper Maqsood did the rest with 32 runs in his tally. Walsh bagged maximum 2 wickets for USA. Earlier, Oman invited USA to bat first and restricted them on chase able total of 213 runs, picking 8 wickets in stipulated 50 overs. Kaleemullah picked maximum 3 wickets whereas Maqsood, Dhamba, and Odedra chipped in with a wicket each. Patel and Khan scored 54 and 53 runs respectively for USA.
Talking about another match, Kenya edged Singapore on high-scoring clash. Kenya opted to bat first and added mammoth 324 runs on board. Kenya required four fifty plus partnership to do so. Started with openers, Patel (68), and Obanda’s (23) 65 runs stand, Kenya continuously kept on scoring runs to propel it to 324. Nelson Odhiambo scored maximum 80 runs from 58 balls. He slammed 7 fours and 2 sixes in his blistering innings. Rakep Patel also contributed well composed 52 runs. Krishna and Paraam picked maximum 3 wickets each for Singapore. Chasing such massive target, Singapore did well to add 312 runs but not well enough to chase it down. Paraam scored 85 runs in Singapore’s 12 runs defeat. Ringera made it tough for Singapore with 4 wickets in his tally.
