USA and Singapore emerged as winners in today’s WCL DIV III’s matches

USA continued their winning streak with hard fought win against Denmark whereas Singapore outplayed Uganda on today’s ICC World Cricket League Division III’s matches.

After being asked to bat first, Singapore responded it with 204 runs, losing all the wickets in 49.4 overs. Wicket-keeper batsman, Manpreet Singh and skipper Suryawanshi led the charge with 59 and 57 runs respectively. Singh faced 79 balls to do so whereas Suryawanshi did it in 61 balls. Riazat Ali Shah and Muhumuza picked up 3 wickets each for Uganda. In reply, Uganda batted 41 overs and added 141 runs to admit 63 runs’ defeat. Janak Prakash made Uganda’s job difficult with 3 wickets in his tally. Krishna and Mahboob also picked up 2 wickets each. Player of the match, Suryawanshi, also accounted a wicket. Waiswa was lone warrior for Uganda as he scored unbeaten 61 runs. He played according to the merit of the ball and smashed 8 fours and 2 sixes in his 63 balls’ innings.

On other side of the day, USA ensured unbeaten run with 16 runs’ win over Denmark. After being 5 down for 87 runs, 131 runs stand between Jones and Walsh rescued their innings and propelled it to 230 runs in allocated 50 overs. Player of the match, Jones, scored 78 runs whereas Walsh ended up with 57 runs. Laegsgaard grabbed maximum 2 wickets for Denmark. Denmark fought hard and extended their total to 214 runs but still found themselves 16 runs behind. Patel emerged as villain for Denmark as he picked 4 of their scalps. Bharaj and Hashmi scored 69 and 48 runs respectively for Denmark.

As per league stand, its tough for Uganda, Kenya and Denmark to finish on top-two spot and their chances for promotion is almost over.
