Nepal Surpassed MCC Quite Comfortably

Nepal started T20 Triangular Series with a comfortable win over MCC. They beat MCC by 9 wickets.

Nepal elected to field first, after winning the toss in shorten match in Lord’s. Due to heavy rain throughout the morning and early afternoon match was shorten to 6 overs per side. Experience pair of Jayawardene and Trott came out to open the innings for Marylebone Cricket Club. Trott (04) was very unfortunate to lose his wicket in very second ball of innings in the form of runout. Jayawardene smashed unbeaten 24 runs off 16 balls to take MCC to respectable total of 40 runs losing 4 wickets in stipulated 6 overs of play. He slammed 4 fours in his short innings of 16 balls. Sompal Kami bagged 2 wickets for Nepal, expensing just 8 runs in his bowling spell of 2 overs. Shakti Gauchan also chipped in with a wicket.

It was easy chase for Nepal as they reached the target of 41 runs with 8 balls to spare. Vice-captain, Malla added 12 runs for Nepal, taking just 4 balls. Khakurel also contributed maximum 16 runs. Douthwaite sent back Anil Sah (09).

Now Nepal will face Netherlands in so called final encounter of the series. Both the team (Nepal and Netherlands) have equal 2 points and winning team in the last encounter will win the series.
