Nepal claims ODI status for the first time in the history.

As per ICC announcement, top three associate nation (barring the Netherlands) will get ODI status by the end of the tourney and with the win over PNG, they sealed a place in 7th spot play-off against the Netherlands. With Scotland and UAE already confirmed their ODI status with a spot in Super Six, Nepal becomes third associate nation (expected Netherlands) of the competition with a place in 7th spot playoffs. As per ICC regulation, the nation with ODI status will get T20I status automatically so Nepal not only confirmed their ODI status, but they also ensure their T20I status for a tenure of coming four years. They beat PNG today by 6 wickets to confirm their spot in 7th spot playoff but they waited for the result of just concluded match between Netherlands and Hong Kong for two hours, which ensured their ODI status. Netherlands beat Hong Kong by 44 runs and crore of Nepal’s fan must have risen their hands high in the air with delight ness.

This was the ultimate dream of every Nepal’s players who represented Nepal and who are representing Nepal. This is the biggest achievement of Nepal’s cricket so far along with an appearance in World T20 2014.
