Adelaide Strikes outplayed Sydney Thunder by 25 runs in the 20th match of BBL. Winning the toss, Strikers opted to bat first and posted the mediocre total of 158 runs on board with lost of 7 wickets in respective 20 over’s. Colin Ingram 48 runs off 31 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes and well supportive inning of 34 runs off 28 balls from wicketkeeper-batsman, Alex Carey helped Strikes to set platform.
Later on, destructive 6 balls-16 runs cameo from Afghanistan star, Rashid Khan helped Strikers to propel their total to 158 runs. For Thunder, Fawad Ahmed picked up 3 wickets whereas Gurinder Sandhu and Chris Green picked up 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
In reply, Thunder’s opening duo, Kurtis Patterson and Jos Buttler shared 45 runs opening partnership before Rashid Khan bowled out Jos Buttler for his personal score of 21 runs off 21 balls. Moving forward, Thunder’s middle order got collapsed and managed to score just 139 runs with the lost of 9 wickets in respective 20 over’s. Kurtis Patterson and Ben Rohrer topped their scorecard 29 runs each respectively. For Strikers, Michael Neser grabbed 3 wickets. Rashid Khan and Peter Siddle picked up 2 wickets where Billy Stanlake and Ben Laughlin also succeed to chip in with a wicket each.
Rashid Khan was declared as Man Of The Match for his splendid performance with both bat and ball tonight.
