Nepal U16 surpassed the challenge of Hong Kong U16 and booked their place in the semi-final of ACC U16 Eastern Region tournament. This match was taken as the toughest match of the competition which really turn-out to be the triller in the end. Winning the toss, Hong Kong decided to bat first early in the morning. But they weren’t being able to utilized the toss factor and ended up with just 82 runs on board with the loss of 9 wicket in their 1st inning. Apart from Aryan Sharad Shetty 24 run and Kalhan Challu 16 runs, other batsmen failed to contribute more. For Nepal, it was perfect display of disciplinary bowling as Pratis GC top the bowling card with 3 wicket in his name. Ajay Kumar Loniya too succeed to send back 2 Hong Kong batsmen to the pavilion where Narayan Joshi and Nikhil Singh also chipped in with a wicket each.
Nepal started their chase with positive attitude and showed some classical shots in first two over but Kushal Malla failed to continued it and lost his wicket on the second last ball of 2nd over. While, Rajan Magar hung in one end other batsmen were getting out one after another. Once Nepal were on back sheet as Nepal lost 4 wickets on the score of 34. Then last match batting contributory, Trit Raj Das joined the crease and shared 27 run-stand with Rajan Magar before Rajan got out on his personal score of 17 runs. Trit Raj Das scored 27 runs and ensured Nepal victory today. Hong Kong bowlers gave out their everything but they didn’t had enough run on board to defend. Nasrulla picked up 3 wicket to make it tough for Nepal. RaunaQ Kapur, Hussain Khan Mohammad and Aryan Shetty too chipped in with a wicket each.
Nepal U16 is placed in the top of group “A” with four points where Hong Kong U16 and Thailand U16 are on the second and third spot respectively with two points each. Myanmar U16 is placed on the fourth spot and already got knockout from this competition with back to back two loses. Top two teams from this group will make their place in semi-final. Nepal has already booked their semi-final. Hong Kong and Thailand will face each other on Dec.14 and winner of the match will be the second semifinalist of this group. Nepal will face the challenge of Myanmar on Dec.14 at this same venue.
