Nepal flew to Malaysia for ACC Youth Asia Cup 2017 yesterday. Nepal U19 Cricket team is in pretty good rhythm as they recently won ACC Eastern Region Tournament 2017 to book their place here on. As Nepal will be playing their opening encounter of the tournament on November 11 against Bangladesh, we chose to look back at Nepal preparation tour of Bangladesh. Nepal U19 have toured Bangladesh for three-match Youth ODI series from November 1-5, below we will be looking at what Nepal actually won from that particular tour.
It was an example of how dangerous Nepal cricket team will stand if their batsman starts performing. Nepal U19 cricket team chase down the target of 226 which Bangladesh U19 had posted in 46.3 overs and sealed the victory against Bangladesh after 15 years by 6 wickets. Previously Nepal had won against Bangladesh U19 in 2002 AD. If we again remembered the last match and try to figured out another positive of that match then it will be the inclusion of Jitendra Singh in opening slot of Nepal U19 cricket team batting department. He had shown his great character to hold one end which Nepal desperately needed at that moment . While Aasif Sheikh was playing destructive inning he never tried to compete with him rather decided to hold one end and played well anchoring inning of 45 runs off 109 balls.
Lets get flash back into first match of the series where Sandeep Lamichhane single handedly brought back Nepal into the game with his magnificent bowling spell. Those wild eyes, that child-like smile, and that superhuman wrist has already became the part of Nepal’s cricket as spin sensational, Lamichhane is performing in each and every match. It would not be fair if we forget to mention the contribution of our U19 cricket team captain, Dipendra Airee. Specially he was very sharp in the fielding department in this particular tour. He send four batsman to the pavilion in this series through his fielding. Dipendra Airee along with Sandeep Lamichhane and Aasif Sheikh will be a three most watchable player from Nepal U19 cricket team in ACC U19 Youth Asia Cup.
If you are emotionally attached with Nepal cricket team than they just hadn’t won a match. They had won the heart of 1 crore Nepalese, they had won the smile of many cricket loving fans, they had erase the fan’s thirst of winning matches. They fire the light of hope in Nepalese cricket fans heart. As BPL being spread everywhere in a cricket lovers land of Tigers, to be in the headlines in such a crucial stage was something they can feel proud of.
